Six months today!

Well today marks exactly six months since i nervously left the UK and headed to Japan for the first stop of my trip.

It’s strange to think back to when i was originally planning on travelling, and toying with the idea of only going for six months so i could keep my job in London. Though this didn’t end up being feasible with work, i’m so glad that it turned out that way. The thought of having to go home now would have been horrible. I think it happens to a lot of people, with all the nerves and worries i had in the beginning, i never planned on being away from home for a year, but now i’m out here i would rather keep travelling for much longer if i can. I suppose it’s not until you start seeing new places and meeting cool people that you realise people rarely get another chance to go travelling and some don’t even do it at all, so here i am now trying to work out how i can spend the next few years working and travelling before i finally have to grow up and get into a steady, long-term job. Instead of initially only wanting to travel a few countries, i now have a list as long as my arm on the places i want to visit while i still can.

So where to next? I still haven’t completely decided on my plans but i’ve been thinking more and more about spending another season in Japan or at least part of it. This gives me until December to try and fit in saving enough money to meet up with friends Ray, G and Joel in Asia, and travel at least the east coast of Australia. I guess i’ll have to see how things go!
